Companion Copilot
If you are not a pilot but occasionally fly in light aircraft, you may have wondered what it would take to be more than a passenger and be involved with the flight and help your pilot—even becoming a pilot yourself if, God forbid, something incapacitates the pilot. Good news! We have created a short training course just for you. In this course, we will give you the basic knowledge and give you the opportunity to practice in the aircraft with one of our flight instructors.
You will learn certain principles of flight and how to safely maneuver an airplane in flight. When used in conjunction with your hands on flight lesson, you will learn what makes an airplane fly and how to use the flight controls to fly and land safely. Additionally, you will gain an understanding of key instruments and gauges, fundamental radio communication and navigation, and how to participate as an effective crewmember before and in-flight.
